Paul Newman,
Actionopolis and You
Press Release
(December 12, 2006) - Actionopolis LLC announced today the launch of a
drive to spread holiday cheer and promote reading. The "Paul Newman,
Actionopolis and You" campaign urges publishers to donate new,
kid-friendly reading material to Paul Newman's Double H Ranch.
This camp is in the process of building their library and needs your donations.
The Double H Ranch in Lake Luzerne, New York is one of Paul Newman's
Hole in the Wall Camps. It provides camping and year round services
for children and families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. The
goal of the camp is to enrich their lives and provide experiences that
are memorable, empowering, fun, physically safe and medically sound
while offered in a magical Adirondack setting.
The Ranch also provides the venue for weekends sponsored by a number
of family based support programs. These weekends serve families coping
with HIV/AIDS, breast cancer, the loss of a child, Von Willebrand's
Disease and more.
"This is really a small thing that publishers can do to make a big
difference in a child's or family's life," said Actionopolis founder
Shannon Eric Denton. "The holiday season is traditionally thought of
as a charitable time of year, but we expect this to be the first of
many such donations we'll be making throughout the year."
